This report provides a methodology/tool to help identify the best insulation, ventilation and air-tightness upgrade available per type of existing social housing stock in the UK, Ireland and Denmark. Updagrade options are broken down into the three categories (insulation, ventilation and air-tighness) and rated for suitability and feasibility to each building type surveyed, and cost of installation.
The report is a devlierable of the project and is available free of charge. It can be used as a tool to identify the best upgrade strategy, based on the type of stock surveyed by the project. In addition, if the results cannot be used because the building types are different, the methodology can be applied to the social housing stock (thermographic camera to identify U-values, SAP rating, use of computer modeling programme ESP-r (University of Stratthclyde) and the sample surveyed is a small sample (32 properties) within an urban area, which means that not all types of housing might be represented.
The pack is free of charge and available on the AVASH website at http://www.brighton.ac.uk/avash/ (the website is only available for another 2 years
