Monitoring Thermal Insulation Windows and Shading Ventilation Solar Thermal

Short Description

In 2009/2010 the facade, roof, basement and the distribution lines were insulated. New windows and a new two-pipe-heating system were installed. Long term success: saving of approx. 45% of end energy for heating and hot water (measured in 2011, 2012, 2013). Installation of a thermal solar plant with 110 m² (1 m² per flat).

Key Elements

Monitoring

Thermal Insulation

Thermal insulation in accordance with Energy Saving Ordinance.

Windows and Shading

New airtight windows.

Ventilation

Ventilation of bathrooms by central roof fan.

Solar Thermal

Installation of a thermal solar plant with 110 m² (1 m² per flat).

Main Results

Saving costs by reducing the agreed power input from 592 kW to 340 kW and by saving energy. Successful saving is measured over 3 years after renovation.

Successful saving of final energy: 142 kWh/m2a before and 75 kWh/m2a after measure.

Certified district heating: Primary factor fp = 0,56, saving of 1.568 t CO2 per anno compared to gas (for the whole company).

Lessons learned

If hot water is measured by heat meter (instead of calculating the heat amount from used m3), a bigger hot water amount is seen (30 % of energy use instead of 17 to 19).
