Funding Certification Monitoring Work with Residents Capacity Building Thermal Insulation Heating and Hot Water

Short Description

The project consists in the construction of a tower of 48 dwellings with a central heating system integrated with thermal and photovoltaic panels installed on the rooftop. The goal of this pilot is mainly to monitor the actual energy consumption for heating and domestic hot water and, by accessing real-time data, raise tenants’ awareness on their energy consumption and improve their “green” behaviour.

Capacity Building

The scope of this pilot was also to learn more about centralised heating systems by involving technical staff as well as maintenance staff.


Work with Residents

A series of meetings with tenants is scheduled to raise awareness about energy saving measures.


Thermal Insulation

The building was insulated with expanded polystyrene panels synthesized with graphite (Thickness: 50 mm - Thermal transmittance 0.038 W / mK); thermal bridges were also avoided.


Heating and Hot Water

Two hot temperature centralised heating systems  of 229 kW in total (114,60 kW x 2).
