Short Description
The project is a low energy building, built on a standard required by the housing promotion scheme (above the standard of the general building code). T
his standard has been raised in the meantime. Nevertheless the building represents a generation of very low energy standard compared to the standards of former generations. This building has a special light-weight construction façade.
The building is constructed barrier-free, dwellings can be adapted barrier-free if required.
All dwellings are equipped with balconies and loggias which is not common for housing in Vienna. There is also a common terrace on top of the building as well as a common room.
The size of the dwellings shows a variation between 53 and 124 m2 to fulfil the demands of different household types and persons of different age.

Main Results
When comparing the calculated heating demand to actual consumption it turns out that both levels are in accordance.
Lessons learned
The building proves that with a comparatively low level of costs of construction an efficient level of energy consumption can be obtained.
