Short Description

It saves both energy and money, and provide a comfortable indoor climate because the walls have the same temperature as the indoor air. Living in the neighborhood Vitsippan is to choose a comfortable accommodation.

The building has an elevator and intercom and the apartment obviously own a dishwasher, washer and dryer. Each apartment has its own heat exchanger that gets its heat from biomass from energy supplier. Tenants pay their own use of heat, water and electricity.

Main Results

  • Its to early to say we had some trouble to rent out the apartments at first but its getting better now. The question is are the tenants willing to pay for a passive house?

Lessons learned

  • We have learned that it is important that we have an eye on the process during the construction period and not just hand over to the contractor.
  • We could tighten up some things at an earlier stage and avoid standing with a bigger problem when you move in, such as swinging hot water temp. This is not completely solved, now anyway on a smaller scale.
  • Then we have a process for evaluation / verification to be done to ensure that the houses meet the requirements.
  • We also have to see how the concept of cold rent and own subscriptions for tenants work in a multi-family dwellings.
